TAHA is a leading, member-based private sector organization that champions the expansion and competitiveness of Tanzania’s horticulture industry. Established in 2004, TAHA has effectively served as a voice for producers, traders, exporters, and processors of horticultural products, primarily flowers, fruits, vegetables, horticultural seeds, and spices. The Association protects the interests of industry stakeholders and ensures that industry concerns are well represented on national and international platforms. Visit us at our website.
The USAID Tuhifadhi Chakula Project (USAID – TCP) is a five-year initiative funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and executed by TAHA. The primary goal of the Project is to minimize food loss and waste and the resulting climate impacts for enhanced food security and livelihoods.
The project has been collaboratively designed to enhance food handling, storage, and value addition, facilitate market access, inform and advocate for policy and regulatory frameworks that minimize food loss and waste, and strengthen the capacity of local organizations to lead in post-harvest management. In general, the project aims to reduce post-harvest losses from 30-40% for horticulture to 15% and from 13% to 7% for cereals by the project’s conclusion.
Through the USAID TCP, TAHA has allocated a budget to solicit and engage a suitable and qualified vendor to provide and set up a backup server at its office located at Mpendae kwa Binti Hamran, Unguja, Zanzibar.
