Key Responsibilities: Regional Manager

Job Purpose

As a Regional Manager (RM), you will provide overarching leadership for VFT’s commercial operations at the regional level. Your primary responsibility involves supervising Business Centre Managers within your assigned region, ensuring that all centers under your purview meet their monthly and annual business objectives. Key aspects of your role include executing the bank’s strategic vision, managing performance, mitigating risks, and enforcing internal controls to reduce operational risk.

Your Role in Detail:

  1. Performance Management:
    • Oversee regional management and staff to ensure that all branches consistently surpass their monthly and annual business targets.
    • Mentor and coach Business Centre Managers to enhance their performance.
    • Uphold high standards of discipline within the region, ensuring that all managers consistently meet their targets.
    • Collaborate with the COO to administer an approved incentive scheme, motivating and rewarding regional staff.
    • Facilitate staff capacity-building through continuous training programs.
  2. Compliance with Policies and Regulatory Requirements:
    • Manage policy application, norms, and procedures at the branch level.
    • Ensure business operations adhere to prescribed local regulatory laws.
    • Set performance contracts and monitor compliance for branch managers.
    • Implement a performance management system that enforces adherence to policies, procedures, and regulations.
    • Address compliance gaps identified through internal audits and risk assessments.
  3. Department Administration:
    • Supervise the branch network to maintain accurate client records.
    • Organize and update files related to regional performance, specifically focusing on Branch Managers and Regional Managers.
    • Allocate necessary resources to branches, including monthly field allowances and staffing levels, to enhance service delivery.
  4. Department Reporting:
    • Analyze financial indicators and generate reports for the COO. These indicators cover deposits, channel performance, disbursements, client retention, product growth, branch profitability, and delinquency.
    • Ensure comprehensive and accurate reporting at both the overall and branch levels.
    • Provide timely and precise information to senior management, including the Chief Executive Officer, VFT Board of Directors, Bank of Tanzania, and Vision Fund International.
